RANDONNÉE DU CIRQUE DU BOUT DU MONDE

RANDONNÉE DU CIRQUE DU BOUT DU MONDE

On the southern edge of Larzac limestone plateau, Bout du Monde cirque is set against a ledge 350 metres above the hamlet of Gourgas. Climbing the western flank of Serre de Molenty, you access the old Canourgue mule path (farm on the limestone plateau). Half-way up the cirque, a path goes between wood and rocks and crosses the beds, often dry, of small tributaries of Brèze stream: the Aven, the Figaret and the Rieussec. Below, the valley is composed of varied landscapes; here dark ravines, and there bright meadows watered by the many springs, the most famous of which is called the Bronzinadouïre. The route goes to Pioch Blanc, in the east, then to the hamlet via the Doumergarie bridge.
