Situated on the Causse du Larzac, in the north of the Lodévois, the Domaine de la Vernède covers some 370 ha in the communes of Saint-Michel d'Alajou, la Vacquerie and Saint-Pierre-de-la-Fage, helping to maintain a sheep tradition (here the flock stays all year round). The public reception facilities built since 1985 illustrate the peaceful coexistence between agricultural activity and the forms of leisure activities adapted to this area: a thematic information area on the history of this 18th century bastide, an outdoor picnic and reception area with a drinking trough for the horses, a Green Network® stopover relay with a bicycle room, etc
